Worldwide Director of Technology Early Research Oral Care Biological and Physical Sciences
Dr. Jim Masters currently leads the early stage Biological Sciences research in Oral Care. He and his team are responsible for the basic innovation programs concentrated in the soft tissue, physical and surface sciences supportive of Colgate Palmolive’s global Oral Care business portfolio with research . Jim has over 25 years of experience and has actively led research teams in both the oral and personal care categories. The focus of his research has recently concentrated in skin and sweat physiology, skin microbiome research, oral microbiology and the study of bacteria/host response interactions to resolve early stage disease for improved oral health. He has authored several book chapters and published many articles in peer reviewed, internationally-recognized journals, holds more than 55 US Patents and was a long standing member of the International Standards Organization US Oral Hygiene Advisory Group. Jim received his BS degree in Chemistry from the University of Scranton and his PhD in Inorganic/Polymer Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
